WHEELING MINERS BEGIN BUILDING TOWARD 2027 RETURN TO THE NATIONAL ARENA LEAGUE

WHEELING, WV — Following the conclusion of this week’s National Arena League meetings in Las Vegas, the Wheeling Miners are officially moving forward with preparations for the organization’s return to the NAL for the 2027 season.

As announced Monday, the Miners will return to the National Arena League as the organization begins an exciting new chapter of professional arena football in Wheeling.

While much of the work taking place behind the scenes will be announced in the weeks and months ahead, fans who have been paying close attention may have already noticed the first signs of what is coming.

Recent updates to the Miners’ profile and cover imagery have provided an early glimpse into an updated identity being developed for the organization. Those changes are only the beginning.

As the Miners prepare for 2027, the organization is placing an even greater emphasis on the grit, toughness and hard-working spirit that have long defined both the Miners name and the communities of the Ohio Valley.

The goal is to build an organization that represents more than a football team. From the Miners’ visual identity and game-day experience to community involvement, partnerships and football operations, every element is being developed around an identity that represents the people and history of the region.

With league meetings now complete and preparations for the 2027 season underway, additional announcements regarding the Miners’ branding, staff, partnerships, football operations and upcoming season will be released in the coming weeks.
