WHEELING MINERS DIGGING INTO THEIR WHEELING ROOTS
WHEELING, WV — As the Wheeling Miners continue preparations for their return to the National Arena League in 2027, the organization is taking the opportunity to reconnect its identity with the history, character and working-class spirit of the Ohio Valley.
This valley wasn't built overnight.
It was built by generations of hard-working men and women who punched the clock, got their hands dirty and understood the value of an honest day's work. It is a region shaped by industry, mining, manufacturing and the people who showed up every day determined to provide for their families and build their communities.
That same mentality is at the foundation of the Wheeling Miners.
As part of the organization's next chapter, the Miners are embracing an identity that more closely reflects the grit, toughness and pride of Wheeling and the surrounding Ohio Valley.
Built by the Mine. Driven by the Valley.
That philosophy will become increasingly visible throughout the organization as preparations continue for the 2027 season. From the Miners' branding and visual identity to the team's community presence, game-day experience and overall culture, the goal is to build something that feels unmistakably connected to the people and communities the Miners represent.
For the organization, "Miner" is more than simply the name on the front of a jersey.
It represents showing up. Putting in the work. Digging deeper when things get difficult. Taking pride in where you come from and standing alongside the people who call this valley home.
As additional pieces of the Miners' 2027 identity are unveiled in the coming weeks, each will continue telling that story.
Because being a Miner is more than a name.
It's who we are.
